Exams

Our main goal is to help our students on their journey towards bilingualism —and not simply to prepare them for an exam; however, we recognise the importance of having their language skills backed by an official certification from an internationally recognised institution. For this reason, we are an Official Cambridge Preparation Centre (Centre 111274) and we prepare our students for levels from B1 to C2 (CEFER).

  • To keep students motivated and avoid adding to their school workload and stress levels, we do not prepare exams whose certificate corresponds to levels below B1 . This also allows us to focus lessons on projects and activities that actively motivate and engage students, rather than dedicating the time primarily to exam preparation. Furthermore, lower-level certificates are those least frequently required by public administrations, universities and other institutions.

  • To identify potential candidates, we carry out assessments before Christmas and before Easter. When we observe that a student has the level needed to realistically pass an exam, and when the student and their family decide that they want or need to obtain an official certificate, we then begin their specific exam preparation. The preparation takes place on Friday afternoons in April, May and June. This preparation is provided at no additional cost, except for the student's commitment to do the work involved.

  • In general, students at the academy tend to reach B1 level in Year 6 or 7 of school (11-12 years of age), B2 level in Years 9–10 (14-16 years of age), and C1 level in Year 10-11 (16-18 years of age). However, results always depend on each individual student, their effort and their motivation.
